Pete’s Dragon – A Warm, Wistful, Cute but Boring Tale
Walt Disney Pictures latest flick Pete’s Dragon is receiving a great first response among critics and audiences, amusing people with VFX and Soundtrack, Pete’s Dragon can be tracked back to the creativity of its Founder Walt Disney.
It is a wonderful piece of art and imagination which helped introduce an another iconic character to a younger generation while also making this as an epic cartoon movie, respectable for adults.
The movie starts with Pete in a car with his parents, reading his favorite book Elliot Gets Lost, and suddenly the car crashes, he ends up in the Pacific Northwest Woods of Millhaven where Pete encounters a green large Dragon.
Pete named the Dragon Elliot and they have helped each other to survive until they’ve discovered a girl named Natalie. Later Pete is taken by a ranger named Grace.
Pete’s Dragon has a mystery in it but once you’ve seen Elliot, it doesn’t have any real plot development to keep things interesting.
Elliot developed an interesting characterization to Pete’s Dragon, even it is the most impressive aspect of the movie.
Elliot, who is quite a CGI Creature is the heart of this film and makes it one of the rarest and beautiful animation movie in 2016.
Pete’s Dragon is a family adventure drama animation film, directed by David Lowery.
Walt Disney Pictures Pete’ Dragon tends to drag sometimes and it might put some audience disappointed.
Lowery is trying to create a character drama movie between normal people, while Elliot being pursued by hunters in the forest.
There is more, this movie has some amazing moments but when it comes to action sequence between Dragon and Humans, Pete’s Dragon might put some audiences to sleep.
Overall, movie’s VFX and CGI is quite an achievement.
