DC’s Cinematic Universe is going through the same problem everybody was worried about. Just a few days ago, there were talks of Matt Reeves joining as the director for The Batman but as per the latest reports, he’s out of business and the search for a director is still on.
These reports emerged on The Hollywood Reporter claiming that Reeves has backed off from the director talks and he is finally not directing it.
Warner Bros. is taking too much time to decide who will be the perfect choice for their movies. With a scammy start from Batman v Superman and then Suicide Squad (both of them were critically slammed), DCEU doesn’t seem to be reviving as Wonder Woman is also in talks of being under tonal problems.
The Flash movie has undergone two directors so far and there’s still no sign of who would be directing the solo Barry Allen movie. The movie was announced in 2014 and is slated for a release in 2018.
Wonder Woman would be released this year in June but it looks like the release date could be postponed for re-edits. This would also affect the business of WB and DCEU as the summer release date is better for Wonder Woman.
Justice League is also going under production and would be released this year in November and is the only movie which hasn’t had any controversies like the other ones.
As Matt Reeves is out, Ben Affleck is also rumored to be willing to give up the Dark Knight’s role for any future reference. If that happens it would be really difficult and maybe WB would’ve to cancel the movie forever.
Now, a lot of things are happening and after scheduling The Batman in place of Justice League Part 2, it is maybe time to move back to Christopher Nolan to give yet another classic Batman movie.
