An Unsuitable Boy, the latest book by Bollywood director and producer Karan Johar has been released on Monday and it was a star-studded evening with a lot of big names from the industry in attendance including Gauri Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Alia Bhatt, Manish Malhotra, Sweta Bachchan and others.
As you know, Karan Johar’s best friend Shahrukh Khan was present at the launch and he expresses Karan in his own words by saying,
“I think the name of the book should have been a good boy instead of An Unsuitable Boy because I think Karan is an extremely intelligent boy and a gifted human being. When I am saying intelligent, I meant the ability to understand human emotions, people, and their situation. I think that is a gift he has from God. He is an extremely gifted sensitive person. And I must mention that he is a brave boy, he is the special human being I have come across.”
An Unsuitable Boy, the biography of Karan Johar captures details from Karan’s life, starting right from his childhood to this day.
The book also captures Karan’s tiff and feud with Bollywood actors and in industry. He was asked about his strained relationship with Kajol, Karan said,
“We have a great history. I don’t want to add anything to what has been already said. We have shared a 25 year long friendship.”
Talking about Shahrukh Khan, Karan mentioned that he has deep love and respect for the superstar. He also mentioned that when there was trouble in their friendship, he sorted out his differences with a single embrace.
Shahrukh Khan ended the launch jokingly by adding,
“I used to feel I have arrived if I will win a few awards. I will feel that I have arrived, when I sign with a certain director, and so on. But I feel that I have truly made it in Bollywood, because my family has an entire chapter in the book.”
