730 million Indians to get online by 2020, more than double to the previous year.
The Union Minister of Communications, Manoj Singa wrote to the Rajya Sabha regarding a Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, according to his claim India had 391.5 Million internet subscribers as of December 31 last year.
According to a National Telecom Policy report from 2012, India is expected to grow its Internet subscribers more quickly and the Country is likely to see 600 Million Broadband connections by the end of the year 2020, at a minimum of 2Mbps speed.
And according to NASSCOM-Akamai report, India will have approx, 730 Million Internet users by the end of 2020.
Overall the E-Commerce market in India, which was valued at $17 Billion in 2015-16, is also expected to double to $34 Billion by 2020.
